The Sherpa Screening Room: Meet Michael Myers!

There are some of you out there too young to remember The Vietnam War. Yet, there are still those who are trapped in the painful memories of it. I was too young to really comprehend what it was all about. I do remember hearing of my second cousin, I guy I met once or twice, and who was a really nice guy, being drafted to fight, and then losing his life over there. I've never served, but the sacrifices that the people in our armed forces  are beyond description. I do remember those who came home and were looked upon as anything but heroes. For a second, try to relate to that. They've done the same job that our soldiers have done in Germany, Japan, Europe, The Middle East, Afghanistan, and anywhere else in the world that there's been conflict, but don't get the proper treatment when they got home.  This was why it was my pleasure to speak with Michael Myers. He was there, and lived through it, while others died, and took the pain home with him. Dealing with loss, returning from an unpopular war, and with PTSD, he turned to writing a number of powerful plays which helped him to deal with all of that pain. He was very forthright and hinest about his experience serving his country, and his viewpoint is simply fascinating.
